Water Forum will attend the 60th BT Young Scientist Exhibition next week

Next week the 60th  BT Young Scientist and Technologist Exhibition will take place from January 11th-13th, in the RDS Dublin. Approximately 550 students from across the country will present their research projects with the hope of winning the BT Young Scientist and Technologist of the year award worth €7,500.

There are many other awards available to the students, including the Silver Project Award for the best research project on the topic of water that is sponsored by An Fóram Uisce – the Water Forum. Students will have been working hard on their research over the past couple of months and those presenting will have already beaten off strong competition to get to present their work at the Exhibition.  So they are all winners already!

The Water Forum will have a stand at the event (W8 in the Industrial Hall) and everyone is welcome to come along and say hello and find out about our work. There will be a selection of water education materials available free for teachers and students and some other resources that always prove popular with students, teachers and the public.

Throughout the event the Water Forum will be asking students to complete a Student Water Survey so please come along and complete our survey.

On Friday afternoon, a representative of the Forum will present the Silver Award for a project on a water topic to the students whose project the judges have assessed as the most deserving.

Through participation at this event, the Forum hopes to encourage learning about water and engagement in research and discovery around how to manage water resources in a more sustainable manner.
