Big steps needed to protect and restore Ireland’s waters!

An Fóram Uisce has submitted recommendations to the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage ahead of the public consultation on the Significant Water Management Issues for the development of Ireland’s 4th Water Action Plan.

Our submission highlights:
• The need for accelerated implementation to meet Water Framework Directive objectives.
• Strengthened targeted and protection measures.
• Timely publication of the 4th WAP to avoid repeated delays.
• Scaling up catchment management and community fora across all 46 catchments.
• Improved policy coherence and resourcing to support effective delivery.

We look forward to contributing to a stronger, more effective 4th Water Action Plan.
