Research Tender Quotation: Water Quality of Transitional and Coastal Waters- policy recommendations

The Water Forum have issued a request for research quotation for a research project on: Water Quality of Transitional and Coastal Waters – Policy Recommendations for Policy Alignment and Improved Integrated Catchment and Coastal Management

The research needs to review and assesses what progress has been made over the past decade in relation to the overlapping targets of the Water Framework Directive (WFD) good ecological status and the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD) good environmental status.

The research should also assess how integrated catchment and coastal management is currently performing in Ireland as a way of achieving good ecological status for coastal and transitional waters, identifying where improvements could be made in governance and implementation.

The objective of the research is to develop policy recommendations around policy alignment and
integrated management of our transitional and coastal waters.
